Peterson Lectureship Series on Death Education, to be held each spring at the College of Education. The series is sponsored by the Peterson family.
-- An hour-long reception will follow the workshop, starting at 5 p.m.

SPEAKER PROFILE

Robert Neimeyer is one of the nation's foremost researchers on death, grief, loss and suicide intervention. He is professor and director of psychotherapy in the psychology department at the University of Memphis. He has authored nearly 300 articles and book chapters and published 20 books, including Meaning Reconstruction and the Experience of Loss, and is editor of the international journal Death Studies. He is currently working to advance a more adequate theory of grieving as a meaning-making process. Neimeyer served as president of the Association for Death Education and Counseling and as chair of the International Work Group for Death, Dying and Bereavement.

On Friday, Feb. 16, Dr. Neimeyer will hold one-hour conversations with College of Education graduate students (10 a.m.) and faculty
(11 a.m.), both in Room 158 Norman.
